Cockney Knees Up Radio Clip

Cockney Knees Up Singers and Cabaret Party Hosts, U&V have been performing around the country for the last year bringing dressing up parties and raucous singalong shows round the old Joanna to an ever growing, loyal fan base.

Starting by performing burlesque routines at private parties their act includes; Mary Poppins Unplugged (one too many spoonfuls of sugar), Sentimental Journey (the ride of your life), The Human Fly (96 eyes) Young Rosie & Nana Rosie (cockney singers) and Monsieur Pompadou & Champagne Charlie (the upper class twits). They went on to produce, inspire and host their own cabarets, mixing stand up with variety shows and harking back to the good old days of the music hall but with a contemporary twist. Gathering eclectic acts, performers and bands they put together nights of unrivalled fun with the focus on having a right royal knees up. Underbling & Vow successfully strike the balance between live theatre and a party by creating intimate, raucous, inclusive, fun nights with live piano singalongs, audience participation, party games and most importantly a lot of sillying about.

Bestival 2007– it was standing room only for three nights in the cabaret tent, debuting their Cockney Knees Up with Mickey the Fingers on piano, Rosie & Rosie led the audience in a two hour singalong party including their very own cockney Bestival song. Everyone was Up the Elephant, Down the Strand, Underneath the Arches and rolling the barrel all the way. By the end, the audience were singing, on their feet, with their knees up doing The Lambeth Walk Oi!

This year, they return to Bestival 2008 and will curate their very own Knees Up Tent at Camp Bestival and Bestival with an Old Time Music Hall Knees Up including guest acts and party games to bring out the Cockney in everyone.
